Mathew Loayza Death – The motorcyclist who was fatally struck by a Metro A Line train in Long Beach has been identified by authorities. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed that the man was Mathew Loayza, 27, although his city of residence remains unknown. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 6 p.m. near the Long Beach Boulevard and Eighth Street grade crossing, when the Metro A (Blue) Line train collided with the motorcycle.
Metro spokesman Dave Sotero provided this information. Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the Long Beach Police Department attempted life-saving measures before the arrival of Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, who unfortunately pronounced the motorcyclist dead. The LBPD has stated that they are working in conjunction with Metro to investigate the cause of the incident.
Metro expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the motorcyclist and emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of their customers and the communities they serve.
