Olivia Beltran Pacheco Death – The Marin County Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division has identified the woman who was tragically stabbed to death by her daughter while the incident was being broadcast on Facebook. The victim has been identified as Olivia Beltran Pacheco, aged 55. Her daughter, Tonantzyn Oris Beltran, has been taken into custody as a suspect in the crime.
On Monday, just before 5 p.m., the San Rafael police received multiple reports of a physical altercation and stabbing at an apartment complex on Cresta Way. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were directed to the rear balcony of an apartment where they allegedly witnessed Beltran, aged 28, holding a knife and standing next to her mother, whose clothes were soaked in blood.
Beltran did not immediately comply with the officers’ commands and directions. While the officers confronted her from the balcony, another team of officers forcibly entered the apartment through the front door and apprehended her. Firefighters provided immediate medical assistance to Beltran Pacheco, who was then transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her extensive injuries and passed away, according to the police.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Beltran had allegedly filmed the stabbing and broadcasted it on Facebook Live. Authorities contacted Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to have the footage removed, which was subsequently done. Initial reports of the incident came from witnesses at the scene who had viewed the incident on Facebook.
Detectives are currently examining the possible motive behind the suspect’s actions. The exact cause of death is pending the completion of the coroner’s investigation, although a postmortem examination was conducted on Tuesday.
San Rafael police have noted that Beltran has created content on various social media platforms and even filmed herself in the lobby of the Santa Rosa Police Department on Monday. Both departments are collaborating to determine the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the San Rafael police.
