Robert Lepak Death – Robert Lepak, 51, of Erie, tragically lost his life on Saturday morning, April 13, after his vehicle collided with a tree on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. The Butler County Coroner, William F. Young III, officially identified Lepak on Monday. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, and it was classified as an accident.
Trooper Bertha Cazy, the public information officer with Troop D, reported that Lepak was driving south in a Jeep Patriot when the incident occurred near mile marker 94. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time. Police arrived at the scene at 9 a.m., leading to the closure of the southbound lanes from 9:40 a.m. to 1:23 p.m.
Emergency responders from Portersville Borough-Muddy Creek Township, Prospect volunteer fire departments, and Harmony Fire District also arrived at the crash site.
