Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada Obituary – A Minnesota man has been charged with murder on Monday after allegedly pretending to be a package delivery driver, entering a residence, and demanding money before shooting three individuals in the head, including at least one at close range. Alonzo Pierre Mingo, aged 37, is facing three counts of second-degree murder with intent for the killings that occurred in a suburban Minneapolis house on Friday. The incident took place while two children under the age of 5 were present. Mingo is currently being held in jail on a $5 million bond.
Mingo appeared in court for the first time on Monday and was denied a public defender. There is no record of an attorney listed in online court records, and it is unclear if he has legal representation at this time. When contacted by The Associated Press and asked about Mingo’s criminal charges, a man who identified himself as Mingo’s brother abruptly ended the call.
According to Coon Rapids police, they received an emergency call regarding the incident at the home on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered two deceased men and one deceased woman, all with gunshot wounds to their heads. Police stated that video footage from outside the residence showed three individuals exiting Mingo’s vehicle on Friday and entering the home. Two of them were dressed as delivery drivers, with one carrying a cardboard box. Based on a police description of the video captured by a home camera, Mingo, dressed in a uniform resembling that of UPS, allegedly forced a man at gunpoint into a bedroom where a woman and two children under the age of 5 were present. The video reportedly shows Mingo holding the man and woman at gunpoint while demanding money before leading them out of the room.
Subsequently, Mingo returned to the room with only the woman and allegedly shot her at close range, as stated by the police. “The older child can be seen entering the bedroom shortly thereafter, crying hysterically,” wrote Coon Rapids police in a probable cause statement. According to the statement, the younger child later attempted to check on the woman, but the older child pulled them away from the room. The probable cause statement does not mention whether any money or valuables were taken during the incident.
