Spencer Rush Death, DES MOINES – An Iowa man tragically lost his life in the early hours of Saturday morning when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating collided with a Toyota Corolla at an intersection in Des Moines. The fatal accident occurred on March 30, 2024, at 12:24 AM, prompting a response from police and emergency personnel to the scene at the intersection of E. 13th Street and E. Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a collision between a passenger car and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Des Moines resident Spencer Rush, was pronounced dead at the scene. Rush, who was not wearing a helmet, was traveling westbound on E. Grand Avenue when the crash occurred. The driver of the Toyota Corolla involved in the collision has not been named by authorities. This tragic incident marks the third traffic-related fatality in Des Moines in 2024, with the second involving a motorcycle.
