Turner Salter Obituary, Death – The individual who tragically lost his life due to an exploding canister during a massive industrial fire in suburban Detroit has been identified. According to FOX 2 Detroit, Turner Salter, a 19-year-old man, was observing the fire from a distance of a quarter mile away. He was standing outside a car wash along with several others when the canister struck him, resulting in his untimely death at approximately 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
The fire initially broke out on Monday night at a warehouse located in Clinton Township, as previously reported by MLive. The aftermath of the fire caused debris to scatter up to a mile away. While the cause of the fire remains undetermined, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is currently investigating the involvement of gas chemicals. The canisters, similar to the one that tragically struck Salter, were found to contain nitrous and butane.
